Mourne, Gullion and Lecale Rural Development Partnership have been allocated £11m of funding from the £70 million available across Northern Ireland. This area has been awarded the largest budget across the ten Local Action Groups.
In order to draw down this funding the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (formally Department of Agriculture and Rural Development) required a Rural Development Strategy to be prepared for the Newry, Mourne and Down district.
Consultation took place across the district with the rural communities and the strategy was submitted to Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs by 31st December 2015.
The Northern Ireland Rural Development Programme 2014- 2020 covers five broad schemes:
- Rural Business Investment (click here for guidance notes)
- Rural Basic Services (click here for guidance notes)
- Village Renewal
- Rural Broadband
If you would be interested in applying under one of the schemes, please contact us on 0300 013 2233 ext 2506 (Downpatrick office) to register your interest.
